I just came back from a trip to Italy with my husband following a city-hopping journey from north to south. With this particular tour, I feel ready to chronicle and illustrate the nomadic Mediterranean foodie adventures that I first envisioned when I launched my illustration blog a couple of months ago. I feel it’s absolutely ripe time to introduce you to my long-awaited “Illustrated Travel Stories” blog series!

I’m not usually good at switching my mind off while on vacation, but this time was different. I completely forgot about launching this Illustrated Blog Series, and was about to post a story from my Italian trip, when I realised I should be doing this first.
I love travel so much because it gives me a rare chance to broaden my horizons. My interests have changed over the years, and this means that even when I go to the same place more than one time, I get to see it with a new set of eyes every single time. Places change, and so do the people who visit them, and this equation is so fascinating to me.

Mediterranean Foodie Adventures
This “Illustrated Travel Stories” blog series will focus mainly on foodie adventures from the Mediterranean region with great focus on Italy, Morocco, and Tunisia, ‘cause that’s where my passions lie.
I will post about other countries like the UK, Thailand and Holland, but as blogging has taught me you need to find a focus for your blog so as not to lose your edge or seem too generic.
So I’ve said this many, many times before around the blog, and I’m going to repeat it one more time. I have already been to over 20 countries in four continents, tasting foods from different cultures, and falling in love with crafts and motifs belonging to different tribal and folk communities. That’s why I’m launching this series, so as to share with you some of the fascinating stories I have encountered, the places I’ve been to and the patterns and motifs that inform my illustration style.
I hope you will enjoy your journey with me! I look forward to seeing you in my next post, which will be about my recent trip to Milan and Southern Italy, so stay tuned!
